CELEBRATION OF THE LORD'S DAY

Sundays
When I was a student at Franciscan University, every Saturday afternoon the young men and women on campus would gather in small groups for prayer. We would pray something called a "Lord's Day." This included sharing bread and wine, reading the Gospel for the following day, and sharing reflections. Below is a link to a transcript for a typical Lord's Day celebration. There is also a link to a Lord's Day celebration I put together based on the elements of the Mass. I encourage you to incorporate one of these into your family prayer, especially on Sundays, since we cannot attend Mass. Feel free to amend where you feel necessary. As part of this practice, I also encourage the creation of a sacred space, which is simply an area of the home where sacred items and images are placed to provide a space conducive to prayer. See the above image for ideas!
